The Wayne Messmer Quintet brings an entertaining blend of jazz, standards and favorites to each performance. With a blend of vocal stylings supported by a group of exceptional musicians, the audience is treated to a program that captures the songs ranging from the “Great American Songbook” to unforgettable contemporary selections of classic artists, like Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and more.
Wayne Messmer has established himself as one of the most recognized voices in Chicago as a premier singer of the National Anthem. He is equally comfortable performing in concert as a solo artist, as well as with his own groups, or a 16-piece Big Band. He is the host of the popular Wayne Messmer Radio Show, Sunday evenings at 7:00pm on 90.9FM/WDCB.org. and author of the best-selling book, The Voice of Victory.
Celebrated pianist Chris White, is a native of Toronto has distinguished himself as a recording artist and in-demand concert artist at major venues in and around the Chicago area. He has recorded and often performs with his wife, pianist Lara Driscoll, as the duo called Firm Roots.
Bassist Scott Mason combined his rich musical career with academia serving as the Head of the Jazz and Contemporary Music Program at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, CCPA of Roosevelt University until his recent retirement. He has been a fixture of the Chicago and national jazz scenes for many years.
David Katz is one of the most well-respected and in-demand trumpet and flugelhorn artists performing today. He is frequently heard as a featured soloist with some of Chicago’s best-known big bands as well as at musical theater venues.
Dick Daugherty has a career that spans several decades as a performer, educator and teacher. His expertise on the saxophone, flute and clarinet make him a triple-threat. Dick is an audience favorite at every performance with his musical versatility and charming stage presence
